How much do you spend on your pets each month?

On average- about how much do you spend on your pets each month? I just got a puppy in January and I have been spending money on him left and right! between vet bills, food, toys, doggie day care, training, etc. I have probably spent over $1500! More than $150/month. I am hoping this will slow down soon or I will be broke!

im only 14, but on my dog i buy her toys and different little things here and there, but my parent are vets so we get her food and "vet bills" free. we trained her ourselves so no training classes. she is a very well-behaved poodle! i would say the most we spend on her would be grooming, poodles have very high grooming needs. also whenever we vacation somewhere that she can't go, we board her at Animal Barn.

im not sure about the exact price though.

i pay for my gerbils' things though, they are all my responsibility! i buy them food, treats, things to chew on, toys, and bedding. i change their bedding about twice a month so i always have a few bags handy. the main things im usually buying for them are bedding and food.

don't worry any new pet is always expensive at first, it should go down soon :)
I have five dogs so I don't even want to guess what it costs me per month with the food, vet and grooming.

Your situation will get better soon. The dog has had all his shots, you've bought all the things you needed to have for him, from here on out it should be just the yearly vet visits, doggy day care and food.

I always thought that no matter what mine cost me it was a small price to pay for a healthy, well behaved, lifetime companion!
Lets see. I have three cats and a bird. The bird is pretty cheap since I already have toys and bird food is only maybe $5-$10 every couple of months. The cats on the other hand are a bit more expensive. The food costs probably $20 a month and litter is about $15. But I had to get my kitten fixed and licensed a few months ago and that was $80, then she got an eye infection and had to go to the vet, $50. I probably spend about $1000 or more a year on my pets. But you know what? They're totally worth it. I can't imagine my life without them.
I have 3 mules

1 donkey

1dog

3 cats

1 goat

I could have a mansion without them, but they are priceless to me.
I have 2 dogs, a 75lb Viszla mix and a 15lb Chi/terrier mix,

On average between food, toys, snacks and factoring in the heartworm probably less than 50 bucks a month. I shop at Costco! Puppies are more expensive though, they take a lot more care. Thier shots are $50 each once a year and the Heartworm is $40-60 every 6 months.

I also have a 50 gallon saltwater tank, 2 horses and a donkey so on average a month.... yikes! I don't want to think about that number! Something always comes up and one of them needs something! So worth it, I love them all!
When you first get them it is really expensive. I can only caculate it yearly. I have 2 small dogs that weigh less than 7 lbs each. For shots, neutering/spaying (just once of course), dog food, pig ears, heart worm and flea treatments. Its about 1000 a year. I buy a 30lb. dog food for about 35 to 40 bucks but it last me 2 months. I also get a discount from my vet for being w/ them for so long.

And as far as dog training. I watch a lot of dog whisper on t.v.
